Mica-coated interior emits electromagnetic waves to use other objects within the space to efficiently keep the user warm.

Intents is a portable camping space heater I designed my senior year at SCAD. It is collapsible, and made out of lightweight materials to make for easier transport on long cold hikes. The mica-thermic inner coating as well as the grain alcohol burning heat element make this an extremely efficient heater for small windy spaces around the world.

With a combination of early abstract forms and in the field product environment studies we began our journey. From those abstract forms we derived what was important to us and moved to a new round of iteration to expand on those ideas. For me, it was collapsibility and self-contained forms.

"Go out into the world and meet a professional of any field. Shadow them for a day and observe their work to discover a problem that can be fixed with a tool. Design that tool and present it to them."

As an at home jewelry designer Olive had a lot of tools that needed storing but was short on space. She didn't like the idea of having her tools in drawers or out of sight since they are so often swapped for another soI decided to design an organizational system that kept the workspace from clutter, but did not impede her workflow.

Offering her a place to affectionately toss her tools while not in use allowed her to declutter the workspace. The elastic pencil holders helped to keep the writing utensils out of the way but not out of reach.

Design an asymmetrical non-revolved salt and pepper shaker set with a base for a specific consumer market. Paint them black and white to increase contrast in form.
After several iterations of form studies, I began to realize how impactful the form of the shaker is on the action of seasoning the food. This altered dining experience is what drove the finished product.

After some market research, I knew I wanted to create an elegant form that did more than act as a container for salt and pepper. I wanted a sculpture that is interacted with and shapes the dining experience.

By changing an action as simple as salting your food, you can alter the entire dining experience. Without violent gestures of shaking or grinding the users experience will be.

Interlocking Forms

I wanted the base to accept the shakers and be a part of the form more than just a place to rest.
